Warning: Our propane leak detector caught fire

While our RV was parked in our driveway the propane leak detector caught fire internally. There was no rodent damage to the wires leading to the detector. I could not easily get to it because it is in an small area covered by a slatted cover that is fastened by screws. Fortunately I was able to aim the fire extinguisher between the slats. The smoke damage was quite significant. If anyone has had a similar problem I would like to know. The RV repair shop has never heard of this happening. My email address is siamang37@gmail.com
