Smart TV

I have an 8 year old 12 volt flat screen TV in my BF. I rarely watch TV while traveling in my BF but I have been wondering what advantage there might be in installing a smart TV. I have an inverter now so I do not need to have a12 volt model. At this point I do not see much to be gained by making a switch but appreciate any input and/or opinions.
