Hello,

I'm looking for help with this antenna. I cannot find any information about it. What kind is it and how is it supposed to move? I can only get it to rotate 12 o'clock to 10.

Thanks,

Carol

It's a Delta (rabbit ear antenna), it never worked for me so I replaced it. Check the URL below on how to replace it with something that works.

The Delta antenna is pretty much a glorified rabbit ears and probably the worst antenna for an RV. The Winegard Sensar IV (aka "Batwing") is considered one of the the best RV antennas.

Some things to keep in mind:
The Sensar IV has a built-in amplifier and the Delta has no amp. The wall plate near the TV has an amplifier in it which means that both the Delta antenna and the wall plate needs to be replaced.

Steve did a great job installing a Sensar III but the Sensar IV has additional elements that stick out of the front and will not stow between the fridge vent and air conditioner so I rotated the base 90 degrees so that it stows to the side.

The hole through the roof has to be enlarged to mount the Sensar base. To use a hole saw I first drilled a hole through a board then centered the board over the existing hole. This keeps the hole saw centered.

Hi,

We recently replaced ours with the King Jack antenna. Works great and we no longer have a leak from the old antenna. Replacement was easy - I hired my local mobile repair guy. Getting lazy in my old age

Hope this helps,

Daryl

I installed my Sensar IV on Oct 2010 and have had no leaks. I have also tried the Jack and it is a good antenna but not quite as good as the Sensar. I boondock virtually 100% and quite often in fringe areas for TV. The Jack isn't quite up to snuff.

Thanks Tom for the input on the Sensar. We don’t boondocks so the Jack works for us, but good to know.

Heading north on our annual trek to the Twin Cities in a few weeks. The BF has served us well for ten years on those trips between AZ and MN. We often take the back roads but don’t get too far off the beaten path.

The 71 VW convert is now rigged for towing but won’t be making this trip. We have another old car we keep in MN. Your advice on the VW has been helpful too.

Perhaps our paths will cross one day. Best wishes.

Daryl

PS You solution to the stolen cat converter much cheaper than mine. Can’t do that here with the annual emissions check. Sure hoping it does not happen again.

We recently installed a Winegard Sensar IV on our 26RSB. A Winegard roof wedge and 2 interior ceiling wedges were utilized to get the antenna near level when raised. Since I used the roof wedge, the existing roof hole did not have to be enlarged. The instructions state to install the antenna so the travel position is front to back on the RV. Since the refrigerator vent cover is next to the AC cover, there was not enough room for the antenna. I placed the antenna side to side, as noted by another member. See photos. I have more photos if others wish to see more detail.

We use an antenna at our house. The RV receives the same channels as the house, approximately 68 digital channels. All 4 broadcast networks.

The wedges are a great idea but it appears that the ceiling wedges may not be installed correctly. You have a big gap on one side. I think that the wedges need to be rotated 180 degrees. I did not use any wedges on my installation and it seems to work fine.
